After close to 14 years in Camberwell, we’re excited to announce that we relocated our HQ to a brand new facility at 11 Corporate Avenue, Rowville. All roasting, dispatch, packing, tasting sessions and classes will be from this location, unless otherwise organised. Meanwhile in Camberwell, in the original site, Barrel and Roast will continue to serve all our coffees and sell them in their retail section.
This move will help us enhance our operations, broaden our brand and serve all our customers better. There are retail shelves to buy all our blends, single origins and related knickknacks, even books to sit and read while enjoying a cup of Perky Jo and a bite to eat.
Located within the D&E building, our space is bright and open with plenty of parking. In a business environment, with a new residential estate in progress across the road, we are proud to be the first and only specialty coffee roaster in Rowville.
Under the 1961 Coffee brand, operate 3 independent business’ within one space. 1961 Coffee Roasters are still us, operated and managed by the Nathan family. Ash has coffee running through his blood, having grown up on a coffee estate in Gampola, Sri Lanka. 1961 Cafe serves our award winning blend Perky Jo, with cakes, baguettes, cookies and sandwiches and other lunch time items, run by Chang and Partners. 1961 Japanese Kitchen is operated by the Hayashi family who ran the popular Murasaki Tanuki restaurant in Wantirna for many years.
